1 killed in shooting at Tennessee University
One person was killed and another was seriously injured in a shooting...
Several people were shot near Temple University in Philadelphia on Wednesday evening, authorities said, with one victim suffering 14 bullet wounds.
At least five people were injured, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. Around 7:25 p.m., officers arrived on the scene and discovered numerous shooting victims in the 1500 block of North Bouvier Street.
According to police Capt. John Walker, three young ladies and two males were among the casualties.
“Here we go with multiple shots fired on a beautiful day in Philadelphia, which is unacceptable,” he said. “We should not tolerate this in communities.”
A 28-year-old man was struck 14 times across his body and was in severe condition, according to police. A private vehicle was used to transport him to Temple University Hospital.
A 20-year-old woman was shot seven times and was critically injured.
A 59-year-old man was shot in the chest on the left side and is currently in severe condition.
A 21-year-old lady was shot in the left knee and a 19-year-old woman was hit in the right arm.
According to police, both were hospitalised and are in stable condition.
Authorities did not say how many rounds were fired or what caused the shooting spree. The motivation for the attack remained unknown, according to police.
