Russian nuclear threats are misrepresented in the Western media, Lavrov

According to Russia’s foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, the government has not obstructed efforts to prevent nuclear war.

“Western media exaggerate Russian threats,” Sergei Lavrov stated on Italian television, speaking in Russian through an Italian interpreter.

“Russia has never thwarted efforts to achieve agreements to ensure that a nuclear war does not emerge.”

Lavrov reiterated Russia’s claims that it is motivated by ensuring security for pro-Russian Ukrainians in the east and combatting Nazism in Ukraine.
