NEW YORK: After a horrific shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, news outlet Axios revealed this week that Americans’ search interest in firearms increased in nearly every congressional district.

As per the analysis, the increased search interest revealed by Google Trends data indicates Americans’ deep worry about gun violence and school safety in the aftermath of the horrific shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde in May, which killed 19 students and two teachers.

According to a recent report, “Firearms” was the second or third most searched topic in 409 out of 435 districts during the week of the horrific shooting.
