
US urges ‘accountability’ in Brazil for murdered journalist, expert (credits:google)
- Joe Biden and Jair Bolsonaro agreed to collaborate on stopping additional deforestation of the Amazon during a meeting at an Americas summit in Los Angeles.
- The two presidents also agreed to communicate about the current crisis in Ukraine at the United Nations Security Council, according to the White House.
The White House announced that US President Joe Biden and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro agreed to collaborate on stopping additional deforestation of the Amazon during a meeting at an Americas summit in Los Angeles.

Brazil’s right-wing president, on the other hand, expressed his displeasure with international pressure on the Amazon rainforest to Biden.
“We have a wealth in the heart of Brazil — our Amazon, which is bigger than Western Europe, with incalculable riches, biodiversity, mineral wealth, drinking water and oxygen sources,” Bolsonaro remarked on the sidelines of the Americas conference in Los Angeles.
