Dame Deborah James is ‘angry’ at being terminally ill, but wishes to bring consolation to others

Dame Deborah James expresses her displeasure with her terminal illness and stated that she does not want to die.

The crusader was awarded a damehood by the Duke of Cambridge last month. She opened up about how she felt after medics told her there was nothing else they could do.

After being diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016, Dame Deborah documented her journey on social media.

Through her Bowelbabe fund on JustGiving, she raises almost £6.6 million for Cancer Research UK, Bowel Cancer UK, and the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Dame Deborah admitted that she was “mad” this week. But, she enjoys helping her family cook and getting dressed in the morning.

She told, “Dying is really hard. I’ve been consumed by anger this week, in all honesty, I’ve been a real b*tch.”

“I’m constantly yelling and shoving people away. I’m enraged by what’s going on with me. I don’t want to pass away.”

What’s going on “feels like a dreadful joke,” she said. She added that death is “life’s last taboo,” believing that by talking about it, she may help others.

Dame Deborah hosted a sleepover with her friends and family earlier this week. She further claimed that it “put such a grin on my face.”
