He highlighted that while certain EU member states’ reliance on Russian gas remains significant, it is conceivable to begin by reducing the usage of Russian liquefied natural gas and working on alternative supplies to the EU. “Right now, there is a lot of activity going on to address this issue,” the diplomat said.

According to Chentsov, the Ukrainian side believes that the seventh package of sanctions should increase pressure on the Russian Federation’s financial sector, introduce additional measures to block the Russian fleet, prohibit not only certain Russian media outlets but also online propaganda and disinformation sites, impose cyber sanctions, and continue to pressurise Russian establishment and business representatives.
