An explosion this morning killed 3 more in the city of Belgorod
According to the governor of the province, which borders Ukraine, at least three people were killed and four more were injured in a succession of “strong explosions” that rocked the city of Belgorod early on Sunday morning.
“We are currently trying to establish the circumstances of the incident. The anti-aircraft defenses were in operation,” Belgorod governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.
Eleven residential buildings and 39 residences were destroyed in the early morning explosives, he added, but he refrained from accusing Ukrainian forces of carrying out the attacks.
Gladkov stated that he attended the scene immediately following the explosions, which occurred in five streets north of the city center.
Two of the injured were hospitalized, a man and a child, while the other two were treated at the scene, he said.
Since launching its military action in Ukraine on February 24, Russia has consistently accused Kyiv of launching attacks on Russian territory, particularly in the Belgorod region.
Beginning in April, Gladkov accused Ukraine of using two helicopters to attack a fuel store in the city.
