A New York man accused of punching an Asian lady over 100 times

A New York man however charged with various hate crimes. After he recorded on a security camera beating and stomping on an elderly Asian woman in Yonkers. More than 100 times and standing on her body.

Tamil Esco, 42 however charged with attempted murder in the second degree as a hate crime. He attempted murder in the second degree, and assault in the first degree as a hate crime.

He however alerted about the allegations on Tuesday. A spokeswoman for the Westchester District Attorney’s office says he pleaded not guilty and however held without bail. The next time Esco goes to court is August 2.

Yonkers police uploaded gruesome security footage of the attack that occurred on March 11 after the 67-year-old woman of Filipino origin allegedly passed past Esco.

The attack was savage and happened after the woman walked past Esco, the footage reveals.

The criminal complaint states that when she collapsed, Esco hit her more than 100 times, stepped on her body, and spit on her.

Prosecutors claimed the woman had bleeding in her brain and many damaged face bones.

Since the Covid-19 outbreak began, thousands of Asian people in the US have been verbally or physically harassed because they are Asian.

Nearly 11,500 hate crimes against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders however reported to Stop AAPI Hate between March 19, 2020, and March 31, 2022.

Yonkers is a suburb of New York City with more than 211,000 residents. It’s about 17 miles north of Manhattan.
