Megan Thee Stallion said in an emotional courtroom testimony that she was “shocked” when rapper Tory Lanez allegedly started shooting at her.

She told a jury in Los Angeles, “I can’t believe I have to come here and do this.”

The Grammy-winning rapper said that she was shot in the feet as she left Kylie Jenner’s house after a pool party.

The jury heard that she insulted the suspect and asked to get out of a luxury car before he shot her five times.

The rapper, whose real name is Megan Pete and is 27 years old, said that her alleged attacker got angry when she said bad things about his music.

She said that the defendant, whose real name is Daystar Peterson and is 30 years old, had told her to “dance” before shooting her on July 12, 2020, in the Hollywood Hills.

He denies all of the gun and assault charges that have to do with a fight he had with the artist Savage. If he is found guilty, he could go to prison for up to 23 years.

“I’m stunned. I’m scared. I hear the gun go off, and I can’t believe he’s shooting at me “According to the LA Times, she told the judge on Tuesday, the second day of the trial.

She got teary-eyed on the witness stand and said she was sorry she had ever talked about what happened.

“If I had known I was going to have to go through this torture, I wish he had just shot me,” she told the court.

Before getting back into the car, the WAP rapper left a trail of blood at the scene. A few minutes later, police stopped the car because of the blood trail.

In his opening statement, prosecutor Alexander Bott said that a gun that was still warm to the touch was found on the floor near where Mr. Peterson had been sitting.

Megan Thee Stallion said in court that the Canadian hip-hop artist had told her he was on probation for a weapons crime and offered her $1 million to keep quiet about the attack.

She told police at first that she cut her feet on glass.

But on Tuesday, she told the court that she had lied because she was afraid of how the police would react, especially in the summer of 2020, when there will be racial justice protests all over the country.

“At the time, police brutality was at its worst,” she said. “I thought that if I told them that this man had just shot me, they might shoot first and ask questions later.”

Minutes after the shooting, a female friend who was in the car texted Megan Thee Stallion’s security team, saying, “Help! Tory shot Meg.”

Several bullet fragments were taken out of her feet, but some are still there, and she told the people who were looking into the case that she had trouble walking in some shoes.

Prosecutors said that in a phone call, Mr. Peterson “apologetically” apologised for what he did and said he was “just too drunk.”

George Mgdesyan, his lawyer, told the jury to keep an open mind and that he would show that the accusations were false.

The trial goes on.
