Flynas, Saudi Arabia’s premier low-cost airline, officially inaugurated its latest operational hub at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah on Friday, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

The airline also marked the occasion by introducing six new destinations. Among these are two domestic routes connecting Madinah to Abha and Tabuk, and four international flights to Dubai, Amman, Istanbul, and Ankara.

These additions complement Flynas’ existing routes from Madinah to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Cairo.

With this expansion, Flynas now serves a total of 10 destinations from its newly established base in Madinah.

The airline has solidified its position as the sole carrier with four operational bases across the Kingdom, aligning with its strategic plans for expansion.

This growth is concurrent with the objectives of the Pilgrim Experience Program, aimed at facilitating access to the Two Holy Mosques, and the National Civil Aviation Strategy.

The strategy aims to empower domestic airlines, enabling them to connect the Kingdom to 250 international destinations.

Additionally, the goal is to achieve a yearly influx of 330 million passengers and attract 100 million tourists by the year 2030.

Bander Al-Mohanna, CEO and managing director of Flynas, said: “Launching our newest operation base and inaugurating the new routes come in response to the high demand for Madinah, notably from pilgrims and visitors to the holy mosque.”

He mentioned that additional destinations and routes will be unveiled in the coming future.

Al-Mohanna said: “Operating 10 routes from the new base as a start was made possible as a result of more than 100 percent upscaling of our all-Airbus fleet in less than two years, in line with the growth and expansion plan launched early last year under the slogan ‘We Connect the World to the Kingdom’.”

A noteworthy aspect included the signing of an agreement with Airbus in June for the acquisition of 30 new A320neo aircraft, forming part of a larger order of 120 Airbus planes.

Furthermore, there was approval to expand new orders to a total of 250 aircraft, he emphasized.

Flynas currently links over 70 domestic and international destinations through a network of over 1,500 weekly flights.

Since its establishment in 2007, the airline has served over 60 million passengers. It aspires to expand its reach to 165 domestic and international destinations, aligning with the objectives outlined in Saudi Vision 2030.
