In a successful targeted operation, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Sindh, in collaboration with a federal sensitive agency, apprehended four terrorists associated with the outlawed Lashkar-e-Jhangvi in Karachi’s SITE area.

The arrested individuals were identified as Muhammad Amin alias Muna alias Changari, Muhammad Shahnawaz alias Saleem alias Mechanic, Moaz Khan, and Yasin Khan.

CTD reported the recovery of two 9 mm pistols and two TT pistols from the possession of these terrorists.

The detainees are implicated in several heinous crimes, including the killing of Maulana Rahimullah in the Pakistan Bazar area (case registered as 460/23), the targeted assassination of Muhammad Shamim in the Iqbal Market area (case number 148/23), and the murder of Syed Niaz Hussain in the Manghopir area.

CTD spokesperson stated that the weapons used in these incidents, along with a motorcycle, were seized from the arrested individuals.

Notably, Amin alias Muna and Shahnawaz, also known as Salim and Mechanic, are considered dangerous terrorists affiliated with the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.

Further details revealed that Amin alias Muna had previously served a nine-year prison term for attempted murder, emphasizing the severity of his criminal history. Shahnawaz, aka Salim alias Mechanic, had spent 18 months behind bars for a similar charge.

According to CTD officials, the arrested terrorists had sinister intentions of expanding Lashkar-e-Jhangvi’s network in the Orangi Town area.

The successful operation marks a significant step in curbing the activities of the outlawed group and enhancing the security situation in the region.
