Keke Palmer stole the spotlight at the 2026 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards after a heated and humorous exchange with host Druski during a live segment.
The moment goes beyond the spotlight when when Druski approached Palmer in the audience and jokingly called her “fine.” Palmer quickly shut down the comment and made it clear she was not interested in personal talk, by saying that, “I don’t need none of that. I’m not here for no relationship,” she said.
Druski continued to tease her, suggesting she was drawn to men who spend money. Palmer then took the microphone and pushed back again. “This should have been my gig. Why the hell would they have you host?” she said, drawing loud cheers from the crowd.

She added that BET should have chosen her for the hosting role, as the audience reacted with applause. Palmer then smoothly shifted the focus back to the show and introduced the next performer.
Looking into the camera, she announced Cardi B as the next act, calling her a Grammy winning artist and praising her energy and style. “Give it up for the one and only, Cardi B,” she said.
Cardi B followed with a high-energy performance, delivering a medley of songs from her album Am I the Drama? which received strong applause from the audience.
