ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Monday met with a delegation led by the Deputy Minister for Education of Yemen Dr. Ali Alabab to discuss girls’ education.

The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Yemen to Pakistan Mohammed Motahar Alashabi and Additional Secretary Education Hassan Saqlain, said a press release.

Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui welcomed the Deputy Minister for Education of Yemen Dr. Ali Alabab.

He said that he welcomed the visit of the Yemeni delegation and said that the successful conclusion of the International Conference on Girl’s education is a historic achievement for all Muslim countries.

He said that he welcomes enhanced cooperation between Yemen and Pakistan in the field of education.

The minister said that both Yemen and Pakistan have suffered due to terrorism. He said education is the best way to progress for any country. He said that collaboration in fields of mutual benefit is essential.

He said that it is high time that all of Ummah comes together for the greater benefit of all Muslims.

Earleir, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has underscored the critical importance of prioritizing girls’ education in Muslim countries, describing it as one of the most pressing challenges of the era.

Speaking at the inaugural session of the two-day international conference titled “Girls’ Education in Muslim Societies: Challenges and Opportunities,” the premier called for large-scale initiatives to address the issue.
