Shandur Polo Festival ready to spread traditional colors

The historical Shandur Polo Festival will commence from July 7 at the world highest polo ground on earth Shandur, District Chitral.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan will inaugurate the three-day in which various Polo teams from across the country including Gilgit, Baltistan and Chitral would participate in the festival.

Over 0.1 million tourists and polo enthusiasts will attend the event which will be commencing from July 7 to July 9. Different cultural programs will also be arranged beside paragliding, food stalls, music night and traditional dances to fascinate tourists.

Secretary Tourism Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Tariq Khan stated that the festival will be organized under the auspices of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Corporation in collaboration with Pak Army. A special tent village will also be set up to facilitate local and foreign tourists, He added.

Hundreds of tourists have arrived here to proceed to the venue of the festival, which is at a drive of six hours from the city.

The hotels in the Chitral city have already been packed to their capacity due to the influx of tourists to witness the Shandur festival.
