Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted bail to former finance minister Miftah Ismail in liquefied natural gas (LNG) case.
The high court approved the bail on Monday against bonds worth Rs10 million for the former finance minister.
Earlier, on July 19, the Sindh High Court (SHC) approved the PML-N leader’s plea for protective bail in the LNG case.
The SHC had approved the bail for a week against bonds worth Rs500,000 for Ismail.
Earlier, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) also filed reference against Miftah Ismail.
NAB arrested Ismail on August 7 after the IHC had rejected his bail plea in the LNG case.
Ismail had approached the IHC for pre-arrest bail.
His plea heard by a division bench comprising Chief Justice Athar Minallah and Mohsin Akhtar Kayani.
The PML-N leader was taken into custody from outside the Islamabad High Court.
On July 18, NAB carried out a raid at the residence of Ismail, but the PML-N leader not at his residence.
The NAB chairperson had signed the arrest warrant of Ismail.
However on the same day, former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi arrested from the Toll Plaza in relation to the LNG case.

It caused a big loss to the national exchequer.
Sources said that he had granted a tender worth Rs220 bn to a firm in which he himself was a shareholder.
The former prime minister also accused of misusing his authority during his stint as a petroleum minister.
The case was registered on a complaint by Shahid Sattar – an energy expert and former member of the Planning Commission and the SSGC board of directors on July 29, 2015.
