11-year-old boy in Indian state Maharashtra’s Pune district sustained serious injuries after his teacher thrashed him with a stick for not completing spiritual assignments.
According to the Indian media, the incident took place at a Hindus’ spiritual educational institute in the temple town of Alandi, Pune where the teacher gave students ”Haripath” (a collection of devotional poetry) and other assignments.
The boy has been thrashed with a stick on the chest, hands and legs ten days ago for not completing Haripath and other class assignments.
Police officials stated that the accused, Bhagwan Maharaj, who hails Pohane from Parbhani, was booked under section 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC.

“The boy is currently undergoing treatment at the civic hospital in Pimpri Chinchwad and his condition is said to be critical. He is a student of the Mauli Dnyanraj Prasad Adhyatmik Shikshan Sanstha in Alandi,” Police added.
Earlier in Pakistan, a teacher at a shelter home of a private social welfare organization allegedly beat one of his students to death in Karachi.
The deceased girl was an orphan who lived in a shelter home of a private social welfare organization in Clifton area of Karachi, severe beating by her teacher to death.
Police officials stated that her friends claimed that the girl had died after being subjected to brutal torture by a teacher a few days back.
A judicial magistrate accompanied by a police party conducted raid at the shelter home and recovered at least seven girls. Later, the girls have been handed over to the Social Welfare Department, Sindh.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case and launched investigations into the girl’s murder.
