Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal distributed rations to 250 people of transgender community, affected by the coronavirus lockdown in Islamabad.

Minister for Human Rights Dr. Shirin Mazari, Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Aun Abbas Bapi and Transgenders’ Rights Expert Nayab Ali attended the event.

On the occasion, Dr. Shireen Mazari said that wards for transgender patients have been set up in PIMS Hospital while provincial hospitals have also been asked to set up separate wards for them.

Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Aun Abbas Bapi said that all deserving citizens of Pakistan are being brought under the ambit of social security on an equal footing in all welfare schemes including education, health, economic rehabilitation and self-reliance.

Nayab Ali thanked Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal for its sympathy and support for Transgenders.

Transgenders or eunuchs are the most vulnerable community in Pakistan. They have been severely exploited economically. Their own family abandon them and society also don’t own them.
