Fawad Chaudhry, Federal Minister for Science and Technology claimed today (May 21) that that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday (May 24).
According to the details, while speaking to a TV channel, the federal minister said that the calendar has been prepared by the ministry of science and technology, Eid will be celebrated on May 24 in many countries including Pakistan.
Fawad Chaudhry also said that this year Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on May 24, 2020 in Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and other parts of the world.

The federal minister also retweeted a tweet on micro blogging website, Twitter.

It is to be noted that a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be organized in Karachi on Saturday (May 23) for Shawwal moon sighting.
This isn’t the first time Chaudhry has locked horns with Pakistan’s moon-sighting committee. Last year, he announced that his ministry would make an Islamic calendar with Eid, Ramazan and Muharram dates pre-decided before the official announcement. In response, Mufti Muneebur Rehman, the head of the Committee, told Chaudhry to mind his own business.
