Dr Sania Nishtar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Social Security and Poverty Alleviation, said that the government has decided to increase the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program from Rs. 144 billion to Rs. 203 billion.

Addressing a press conference with Information Minister Shibli Faraz at the Press Information Department in Islamabad, she said that with the expansion of Ehssas Emergency Cash Program, 16.9 million households would now be able to benefit from it.

She said that this is the largest social security program in the history of Pakistan which will benefit more than half of the population of Pakistan.

Dr Sania Nishtar said that this program has been well received at the international level and our country has the honour of being the most timely, fastest, most transparent and most organized country in the world. Launched the largest social security program.

She said that this was an automated program based on principles and data in which even the Prime Minister of Pakistan had no power to change.

The Special Assistant said that in this program, an information portal was launched with a special focus on transparency and on it, details of funds disbursed to the provinces, districts and tehsils, disbursed funds and the remaining amount could be viewed. All payments are made after biometric verification.

She said that the program was conducted on a completely non-political basis with special emphasis by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

High-level meeting on the construction industry

On the other hand, Shibli Faraz said that the government had announced a package for the construction industry to alleviate the sufferings of the people so that many sectors of the economy associated with it could move towards recovery.

He said that a meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s House under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister to review the difficulties faced with regard to the concessions and package announced for the construction industry and to get valuable suggestions on it. Attended.

He said that all issues were discussed in the meeting and several pre-emptive suggestions were received, one of which was to hold a roadshow at the international level for all the construction projects, the Prime Minister instructed to conduct meetings in this regard in 2 to 3 days.
