KARACHI: Federal Minister for Telecommunications Amin ul Haq has contacted the heads of mobile companies on the issues of mobile networking in Karachi.

According to details, the Federal Minister for Telecommunications took notice of the mobile networking issues in Karachi and contacted the Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication (PTA) and the heads of mobile companies.

Federal Minister Amin ul Haq said that steps should be taken for immediate restoration of mobile networking in Karachi. Citizens are already troubled about the devastation caused by rains and floods.

He directed the Chairman PTA to immediately enable the concerned authorities to resolve the networking issues, adding that a coordinated plan was also needed to deal with such a situation in future.

The Federal Minister said that in case of any emergency, such networking problems could aggravate the situation, ensuring constant communication with the customers and rectifying the problems.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister Amin ul Haq also expressed his anger over the continuous load shedding in the city, saying that K Electric would have to bring its transmission system in line with modern requirements. If it could not solve the power problems, it should inform the federation.

Not that, Mobile phone and internet services have been badly affected due to power outage in Karachi due to torrential rains.

Torrential rains wreaked havoc in Karachi, where power supply to the city has been suspended for more than 24 hours, while the same mobile towers are not getting electricity.

Industry sources said that the generators on the mobile towers had run out of fuel, some mobile towers were damaged due to rain and switch rooms were affected.

The floods also damaged underground fibre optics, affecting Internet Wi-Fi service and mobile services, causing problems for people.

Dozens of feeders, including more than 70 cable faults of K Electric, have tripped in the city.

Power supply from North Karachi, Garden, FB Area Grid Station, Bin Qasim, Gadap, Defense grid station is suspended.

Lyari, Shah Faisal, Malir, Saudabad, North Karachi, Gulistan-e-Johar Block, Gadap, Kathur, Shadman Town, Buzrata Line, Gulberg, Nagan Chowrangi, FC Area, Buffer Zone, KBR Scheme have a power outage.
