ISLAMABAD: The government has announced to maintain the prices of petroleum products for September.
According to the details, the Ministry of Finance has announced to maintain the prices of petroleum products for the month of September.
According to the announcement, the price of petrol will remain unchanged at Rs 103.97 per litre, high-speed diesel at Rs 106.46, kerosene at Rs 65.29 and light diesel at Rs 62.86 per litre.
Note that earlier this month, Prime Minister Imran Khan had rejected OGRA’s summary of the increase in prices of petroleum products. He decided not to increase the prices of petroleum products and said that there would be no increase in prices of petrol and diesel. The people cannot be burdened in difficult situations.
He said that people were already in dire straits due to the coronavirus pandemic and recent rains, in which case the prices of petroleum products could not be increased.
OGRA had recommended an increase of Rs 9.71 in the price of petrol and Rs 9.50 in the price of high-speed diesel.
It may be recalled that in August, the government had increased the price of petrol by Rs 3.86 per litre, after which the new price of petrol was Rs 103.97 per litre.
