Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that there is no shortage of electricity in the country so there is no justification for the delay in providing new connections.

According to details, a meeting of the National Coordinating Committee for Housing, Construction and Development was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan in which the two sides agreed to cooperate with the State Bank of Pakistan for the New Pakistan Housing Scheme.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Energy to work out standard procedures for construction of new grid stations.

He said that under the scheme, no additional financial burden should be imposed on those who take loans from banks on easy terms to get their houses as the aim of the government is to provide shelter to the homeless so make sure that they Provide facilities and amenities.

The Prime Minister said that the long process of getting approvals for obtaining various utility services should be facilitated as the existing procedure was creating difficulties for the construction sector.

Note that Ishrat Hussain, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, Dr Shahbaz Gill, Syed Zulfiqar Bukhari besides senior government officials of the concerned ministries, chief secretaries and senior officials from the four provinces participated in the meeting through video link.
