The Cannes Film Festival 2021 edition has been postponed until July due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Last year’s event was also canceled and replaced by a low-key event in October that also showed short films but without A-list movie stars, directors, and producers.

According to the Cannes organizers, the festival will be from July 6-17. The 2021 Cannes Film Festival was scheduled for May before.

It should be mentioned here that Pakistani showbiz’s talented actor and director Usman Mukhtar would also be making his Cannes debut, as confirmed by Mukhtar himself.

The actor took to Instagram to share that his short film with actor Ruby Chaudhry was shortlisted for the Cannes International Independent Film Festival.

“With great humility, joy and pride do we announce that ‘Bench’ has been selected at the first Cannes International Independent Film Festival – CIIFF,” wrote Mukhtar.
