The Chief Minister of the Indian state of Bengal Mamata Banerjee was severely injured in an alleged attack by unknown assailants.
According to Indian media, Mamata Banerjee went to Nandigram to file her nomination papers for the Assembly elections.
In this regard, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that a group of 4 to 5 people pushed her inside her car and locked the door.
The chief minister said he was attacked when police were not present.
In addition, a video was shared on his party’s Twitter account.
Trinamool Congress (TMC)’s Sukhendu Sekhar Ray said that at 6:05 pm when the Chief Minister was on her way to Brewlia Anchal after a pooja at a temple, some unidentified persons pushed her towards the vehicle and forced the door closed.
He said that as a result of this incident, the left leg of the Chief Minister was injured and she also complained of severe back pain.
The incident took place at Brulia Anchal Market, 5 km from Rapra.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee told reporters that four or five people pushed her as she was trying to get into her car.
He pointed to her leg and added, “Look how swollen it is.”
In response to a question, she said, “Of course it is a conspiracy. The attack took place when there were no policemen around me.”
The 66-year-old chief minister had faced a similar situation in 1991 when he was attacked by some people.
The chief minister has undergone several medical tests, including a neurological test and an X-ray of his left leg.
She was sent for MRI at SRKM’s Bangor Institute of Neurosciences last night.
According to sources, she has wounds on her feet that are swollen and painful.
