Another witness is likely to be called against accused Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman, sources said.
According to the sources, there will be more sensational revelations from the witness. NAB officials are determined to bring the case to a logical conclusion and Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman will face 14 years in prison if convicted, sources further stated.
The accountability court has also summoned Director Planning Wasa Zeeshan Bilal for a statement at the next hearing. The next hearing of the illegal plot allotment case will be held on June 29.
Mir Shakil, former DG LDA Humayun Faiz Rasool, and Bashir Ahmad have been found guilty in a NAB reference.
As per NAB, Mir Shakil partnered with the Punjab Chief Minister at the time, Nawaz Sharif, to acquire 54 plots of 1 Canal each on an exemption. The acquirement of plots by the accused in the same vicinity is a violation of the Exemption Policy 1986, said NAB.
NAB also stated that with Nawaz Sharif by his side, the accused also took over and acquired 2 additional streets along with the allotted plots. To hide the crime, the accused transferred the properties in the name of his wife and young kids, said NAB.
