Narrative of the state will prevail in Pakistan: Firdous Awan
Lahore: Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has given a strong message to the people in the PP-38 by-polls about the importance of honesty and corruption-free politics.
Talking to newsmen in Sialkot on Thursday, Firdous said the PML-N called its leaders, thugs and ‘patwaris’ from across Punjab to PP-38 and they were assigned duties at different polling stations to disrupt the polling process and pressurise the voters with an open display of weapons.
She said Abid Raza was also there along with weapons to terrorise the voters. As many as five FIRs were registered on the day of the by-polls.
The special assistant said that neither the federal government nor the provincial government interfered in the election process.
“It is quite satisfying that the PML-N politics is entrapped in a blind alley because of the continuous follies of Maryam Safdar,” Firdous said, alleging that after their defeat in the AJK elections, PML-N is seeking covert support from its political handler India.
The special assistant said the PML-N even distributed money in union councils to influence voters but the people preferred to maintain the sanctity of the vote.
She said the PTI’s success is the result of collective efforts under the guidance and supervision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and the voters were fully charged to use their right of vote in favour of PTI.
“I am thankful to my leadership who encouraged and congratulated me over the results,” she said, adding that PTI achieved success with the power of its commitment to maintaining honesty and trust in politics.
“The election result has smashed away the idols of corruption and kickbacks yesterday. We won the PP-38 election with tireless efforts and better teamwork,” Firdous added.
She said PTI is a family and we have to move forward with the vision of PM Imran Khan.
“Nazir Chohan and Shehzad Akbar should refrain from making extreme statements,” she said, adding that the case against Nazir Chohan is a litmus test.
“We are thankful to our workers, media personnel and people of Sialkot for their support. The success of Ahsan Saleem will result in accelerated development and prosperity in the constituency,” she added.
The SACM said the PTI government is bringing the youth forward, as young people are working for the development of the country by becoming a valuable asset of PM Imran Khan.
The result of PP-38 is the victory of the youth. The traditional politics of katcheri and police stations ended yesterday and the victory belongs to the people of the constituency, Firdous maintained.
She also said the people have kicked out PML-N from Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Sialkot. Pakistan is moving forward on the path of progress and development.
Firdous apprised the media that the Punjab CM was reviewing public sector projects in each district and the journey of development and positive change will continue.
“The political rigging will not work anymore. The people of Pakistan have answered the anti-state elements in a befitting manner and wiped them out. Under the leadership of CM Usman Buzdar, Iqbal’s Shaheen are moving forward towards a brighter Pakistan and the narrative of the state will prevail,” the SACM concluded.
