KARACHI: By commemorating the birth of Pakistan, Naya Nazimabad community hosts Independence Day celebrations with national zeal and zest by arranging a mega event in collaboration with the Pakistan Rangers and the National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) at its Cricket Stadium on Saturday, a statement said.

The Independence Day celebrations were commenced by the recitation of the Holy Quran; followed by the flag hoisting, tree plantation, national anthem and cake-cutting ceremony, while a staggering audience of Naya Nazimabad residents and the people from different walks of life marked their presence on the occasion.

The momentous celebration was held under strict observance of the Covid SOPs. Pakistan’s national flag was hoisted by Naya Nazimabad chief executive officer Abdus Samad Habib, President NFEH president Naeem Qureshi, Pakistan Rangers’ Brigadier Tahir Ayaz, Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana president S M Talha and Naya Nazimabad Maintenance Company CEO Saeed Ahmed, and Anees Younus, president of the CSR Club.

Welcoming the guests, Talha recounted the sacrifices and struggle, which led to the creation of Pakistan. He vowed the community members to serve the country by sharing their part honestly in respected areas of work.

He briefed the participants about Naya Nazimabad achievements and highlighted the future endeavours, as well.

NFEH president Naeem Qureshi extended his heartiest best wishes to every Pakistani. He lauded the efforts rendered by the founders of the nation and expressed his firm belief that the youth would follow their footsteps.

The NFEH president shared some valuable information on environment, pollution and health hazards, especially related to Karachi and urged the audience to play a proactive role in building environment-friendly communities to avert serious environmental and health issues.

Pakistan Rangers’ representative Brigadier Tahir Ayaz reiterated Pakistan Armed Forces’ resolve to stand firm against the internal or external threats.

He said the creation of Pakistan was a blessing of the Almighty Allah and “we should all manage to make our beloved country prosperous”.

Naya Nazimabad CEO Abdus Samad Habib said that the dream of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the Subcontinent was achieved by offering huge sacrifices by our forefathers and it is now our responsibility to make this beautiful and enriched country prosperous and respectful.

Talking about national development, Habib shared his vision of modern housing and infrastructure with the audience and lauded the government for taking necessary measures for promoting the construction industry.

“This industry can drive the nation not only towards sustainable economic growth but a very promising and secure future, as well,” Samad added.

Later, Qureshi conferred shields to Naya Nazimabad CEO Abdus Samad Habib, Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana president Syed Muhammad Talha and Pakistan Rangers’ Brigadier Tahir Ayaz.

The guests took part in the tree plantation campaign by planting the saplings at Naya Nazimabad.

Earlier, the participants of the celebration sang the national anthem. The Independence Day celebrations were concluded by a cake-cutting ceremony.
