iCloud for Windows 12.5 hits the Microsoft Store. If you sync your iCloud passwords with Windows, then this new update is for you.

The app, iCloud Passwords, which comes with iCloud for Windows, allows you to search your passwords, update them, and add new ones. It also allows you to delete those passwords that you no longer require.

Apple’s documentation shows how to use the app and it is really simple. You can access the app from the Start menu, and make any required password changes. Those changes will then automatically sync to your Apple devices.

Apple rolled out minimal iCloud Password support earlier this year. The company introduced a Chrome extension that would allow you the manage your passwords already in iCloud Keychain. it also allows the users to add new passwords from Chrome.

The new version also adds support for the Microsoft Edge browser extension.

This update helps syncing passwords more viable for the users who frequently go from Windows to Mac or vise versa.

The app is more flexible compared to browser extension when it comes to searching your passwords.

The iCloud Passwords is not entirely an independent app. However, it is better than the little-to-no management abilities Windows users had before their iCloud Passwords.

The app is now available on Microsoft Store. If iCloud Passwords syncing is not set up beforehand, then you need the enable it in iCloud before you can use the new password manager.

The process is quite simple. It requires an Apple account with 2 Factor Authentication (2FA) enabled along with an Apple device running iOS 14/ macOS 11 or later.

On Windows, you need to have at least a PIN code set up.
