ISLAMABAD: The export of pharmaceutical goods from the country has witnessed an increase of 7.36 per cent during the first three months of the financial year 2021/22, compared with the corresponding period of the last year.

Pakistan exported pharmaceutical products worth $73.428 million during July-September 2021/22, compared with the export of $68.393 million during July-September 2020/21, showing a growth of 7.36 per cent, according to the data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

In terms of quantity, the pharmaceutical goods export also rose 63.46 per cent from 4,477 tonnes to 7,318 tonnes, the data revealed.

Meanwhile, on a year-on-year basis, the pharmaceutical goods export; however, witnessed a decrease of 3.21 per cent during September 2021, compared with the same month of the last year.

The pharmaceutical exports in September 2021 were recorded at $26.488 million against the export of $27.366 million in September 2020, the PBS data showed.

On a month-on-month basis, the exports of pharmaceutical goods increased 17.09 per cent in September 2021, compared with $22.621 million in August 2021.
