CAIRO: Dubai International Airport will witness an increase of passengers to around 45 million to 50 million in 2022, from 27 million to 30 million in 2021, Arab News quoted Dubai Airports Co Deputy CEO Jamal Al Hai, as saying.
These expectations are based on the Expo 2020 Dubai exhibition and its positive role in the gradual recovery of travel from the world towards Dubai, Al Hai said.
The Covid-19 pandemic resulted in widespread restrictions across the world with international travel hit, particularly hard but Al Hai said the aviation sector was improving.
He added that the reopening of the “Concourse A” building at Dubai Airport during the next week, would restore the airport to its full capacity.
