SUKKUR: At least three policemen were badly wounded in an attack of robbers at a police picket in Gari Teghu area of Shikarpur district on Sunday.

Police said after the indiscriminate firing, the suspects fled towards Kacha area.

The injured police officials include a station house officer Ralph Pathan. Two of them were shifted to a public hospital, while a police official Abdul Wahid Bukhsh was transferred to a private hospital for medical assistance. Bukhsh’s condition is very critical and he has been admitted to intensive care unit.

On the other hand, a robber was killed in exchange of firing with police near Sahafi Chowk in Sector-11, Shah Latif Town area of Karachi on Sunday.

The 40-year-old dead robber could not be identified. His one accomplice successfully managed to flee and police are looking for him.

Police have recovered a rifle, vehicle and more than 0.4 million rupees cash.

On Nov 9, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of the police had gunned down two suspected terrorists during an operation in the Sarona area of Khuzdar district.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the terrorists were members of the banned organisation Baloch Liberation Front.

“Two 9MM pistols, two hand grenades, one motorcycle, four magazines and 34 live rounds have been recovered from their possession,” the official had said and added that three of the terrorists managed to flee from their den.
