ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways will run a special steam train from December 3 to 10 between Attock Khurd and Nowshera train stations to promote tourism as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, read a statement issued by the railway department.

According to Pakistan Railways, the ambassadors and foreigners will embark on the train. They will be briefed about different tourist spots that lie between Attock Khurd and Nowshera.

On November 21, Minister for Railways Azam Khan Swati had said corruption, malpractices and delays in departures of trains would not be tolerated in any case.

“The government is committed to provide better travel facilities to passengers at the railway stations,” he had said during his surprise visit to the Lahore Railway Station. He had said the Lahore Railway Station would be upgraded for passengers within its resources.

Earlier, talking to a delegation of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Azam Khan Swati had said private sector was encouraged to invest in Pakistan Railways under public-private partnership for bringing improvement in this sector.

On November 18, the minister for railways had said latest technology was being introduced to further improve the performance of Pakistan Railways.

Talking to the media persons in Islamabad, he had stressed that the use of technology was important to uplift the state-owned enterprises.
