Governor Sindh Imran Ismail on Monday resigned from his office and sent his resignation to the President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi.

Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Shah Farman on Monday also resigned following en masse resignations by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers from the national assembly (NA).
The KP Governor Shah Farman has sent his resignation to President Arif Alvi.
Former prime minister Imran Khan and PTI lawmakers resigned from the NA ahead of the election for leader of the house on Monday.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif was set to contest the election against PTI nominee Shah Mahmood Qureshi, however, the PTI lawmakers boycotted the session after a speech by their candidate.

The decision to resign from the assembly was taken at the party’s parliamentary meeting under the chairmanship of Imran Khan. The party has decided to focus on public agitation against the incoming government.
