Stock market vacations are non-weekend business days while the two predominant U.S. Stock exchanges, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the Nasdaq, are closed for the day. These vacations normally closely follow federal excursion schedules, as they may be usually principal vacations like Christmas and Independence Day.

Regular working hours for each exchanges are Monday-Friday from 9:30 a.M. – 4 p.M. ET. Markets do not perform for the duration of the weekend.

Sometimes, if a holiday falls on a weekend, stock markets will close on the Friday previous to the vacation, as is regularly the case with Good Friday and Easter.
