The instant high-speed winds drove a packed hot-air balloon to crash-land in California, heart-pounding video footage shows the airship’s guide urgently urging the passengers to ‘hold on’ and’stay in the basket.’

Nicholas McCall submitted the stunning 24-second video to TikTok on Friday. It starts with a close-up of the California resident in the basket of the balloon with several others as it hovers above Perris, roughly 80 miles north of San Diego.

At first, McCall, who shot the video to document his first hot-air balloon flight, appears to be enjoying the journey with the rest of the party, shooting the town and surrounding beauty below as the balloon hovers high in the sky.

Winds sprang up and buffeted the hot-air balloon as it descended, causing the voyage to abruptly turn south.

‘My hot air balloon trip was going great until the winds came up,’ McCall, who managed to pull out his phone and capture the accident, adds in the caption.

In the nail-biting film, which has been shared over 650,000 times, the balloon’s guide can be heard calling to passengers as they brace for impact.

‘Wait a minute!’ Hold on! As McCall films, the instructor exclaims, “Hang on!” as the balloon and basket hurtle to the ground in a piece of grassland just outside the California town.

‘Everybody hang on! Everybody hang on and stay in the basket!’ As the vessel is dragged at fast speeds, the guide yells in the shaky clip.

‘In the basket with me! Stay on! Stay on! Stay on!’ the guy can be heard yelling, while members of McCall’s party cry and moan during the rough landing.

The camera abruptly fades out after 20 harrowing seconds, leaving some question about the group’s fate following the collision.

McCall, on the other hand, indicated that everyone survived the incident in his caption, writing: ‘Tik tok we are all alright don’t delete.’
