Authorities say two adults and a kid were rescued last week when their rubber raft began sinking in the rough seas of Lake Washington.

The rubber raft that the two adults and a two-year-old toddler were sitting in at the Stan Sayres boat pier was swept away by heavy winds and powerful waves, according to the Seattle Police Department’s Harbor Unit.

According to investigators, neither the adults nor the youngster was wearing life jackets.

The raft began to take on water as it approached the I-90 floating bridge, according to authorities. Adults and children were both dragged into the turbulent sea.
According to KIRO-TV, the tumultuous waters were 52 degrees, chilly enough to produce hypothermia in roughly one hour.
