On Tuesday, China’s National Meteorological Center issued a new blue signal for rainstorms in several regions of the nation.
Heavy rains are anticipated to hammer regions of Guangxi, Guangdong, Hunan, Jiangxi, and Fujian from Tuesday morning to Wednesday morning, with some locations receiving more to 150 millimetres of rain.
Some areas are expected to get more than 60 millimetres of rain per hour, followed by thunderstorms, gales, and hail.
The centre has recommended local governments to undertake rainy preparations. Schools and kindergartens have been requested to take adequate precautions to guarantee children’s safety, while drivers have been warned to be on the lookout for floods and traffic bottlenecks.
China has a four-tiered color-coded weather warning system, with red signifying the most severe alert and orange, yellow, and blue denoting less severe warnings.
