Ethan Crumbley, the suspect in the Michigan school shooting, was ordered by a judge to remain in county jail. Crumbley is suspected of opening fire in the Oxford High School corridors on November 30, killing four pupils and injuring seven others, including a teacher. The adolescent was accused of 24 counts of crime, including murder and terrorism.

Crumbley, now 16, appeared before a judge for a virtual hearing on Thursday. Due to the seriousness of his alleged acts, he has been imprisoned in the Oakland County Jail rather than a local minor detention center since he was charged last year. The presiding judge is obligated to examine his position once a month. Crumbley was ordered to remain in the county jail by Judge Kwame Rowe. The judge also set a preliminary trial date of September 6, 2022. The trial is set to begin around six weeks before his parents, who are charged with four counts of manslaughter.

According to Fox 2, the Oakland County Jail is in charge of Crumbley’s schooling after taking over guardianship from his parents. He can acquire a GED or a high school diploma and return to school as early as the next school year. New information from Crumbley’s personal notebook was also revealed this week as Crumbley’s parents, James and Jennifer Crumbley, attempted to prevent the alleged shooter’s journal from being entered as evidence in their trial.

“Hopefully, my shooting will lead to Biden’s impeachment,” Crumbley reportedly wrote in a journal entry revealed in a court file Wednesday, according to the Detroit Free Press.

James Crumbley, the father of Ethan Crumbley, a teenager suspected of killing four classmates in an Oxford High School massacre, arrives in court for a preliminary examination on involuntary manslaughter charges on Feb. 8, 2022, in Rochester Hills, Mich.

Crumbley reportedly referred to Biden in his diary as “sleepy f——— Joe Biden” and predicted a slaughter so enormous that “sleepy f——— Joe Biden will have to issue an apology(y) to people.”

Lawyers for the Crumbleys are concerned that politics may jeopardize their chances of a fair trial.
