Karachi: IPC strives to establish good relations between the UK Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).

The delegation led by Chairman International Professional Council (IPC) Syed Ali Amjad called on the President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Irfan Iqbal Sheikh. Mr. Suleiman Chawla, Senior Vice President, FPCCI, Mr. Sabahat Ali Suleiman, Vice President, Mr. Saqib Fayyaz Maroon and Mr. MA Jabbar, Engineer were also present on the occasion.

 

The meeting was held in a cordial and friendly atmosphere. Problems faced by the Pakistani business community, especially difficulty in getting international recognition of the product made in Pakistan, lack of detailed information for export, registration issues and obtaining visas were discussed in detail.

On this occasion, discussions were held on establishing relations between the UK Chamber of Commerce and Industries and the Pakistan Chamber of Commerce. Syed Ali Amjad, Chairman, IPC, while discussing in detail with the FPCCI delegation, explained how the IPCU platform can help the Pakistani business community with existing information and resources.

Syed Ali Amjad also highlighted how the UK’s shadow ministers can play a role in bringing the two countries’ chambers of commerce closer together, and at the same time assured that the two chambers of commerce would work together. He also made sure to play a vital role in building the relationship between the two of them.

The IPC delegation also hinted that a major breakthrough would emerge between October and November, with officials from the UK Chamber of Commerce visiting Pakistan. The IPC also invited the FPCCI to visit the United Kingdom.

The delegation of IPCUK also included Senior Vice Chairman Dr. Afaq Qazi, Tariq Moin and Dr. Shehzad Aftab and other officials.

Welcoming the move, FPCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh said that such steps are a matter of urgency.
