
“Incendiary devices” were discovered inside a car that struck three children outside an elementary school, according to California authorities.
The Santa Ana Police Department said officers were called to a traffic incident at Taft Elementary School on Monday morning when a car went onto the sidewalk and struck three children.
The event occurred at 8:30 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Times, and all of the children involved were under the age of 12. According to authorities, the youngsters were rushed to the hospital and are in stable condition.
According to police, the culprit, subsequently identified as Valencia resident Jason Guzman, trespassed into Taft Elementary soon before the incident and was removed off-campus.
A suspected incendiary device was discovered during the search of the suspect’s car.
According to the agency, three other incendiary devices were discovered during the examination of the car by the Orange County Bomb Squad.

According to the New York Times, the 26-year-old driver was discovered with an apparent self-inflicted stab wound. According to KTLA, a witness said the driver appeared “out of it” and exited the vehicle with a knife before returning to the car.
“As I go to respond to them, the parents are really distressed, yelling,” said Isaias Vazquez, referring to the youngsters who were left laying on the ground, one in the center of the roadway.
The motorist was brought to the hospital and was scheduled to be arrested later.
A red sedan was seen traveling down the road before sliding to a halt in the middle of the road on video. The car then accelerates toward the sidewalk before disappearing from view. The vehicle continued rolling after striking the youngsters, authorities claimed, and hit another parked car.
Officers made touch with the driver once the car eventually came to a halt.
There have been no more updates on the driver or the incendiary devices.
