Johnny Depp’s career would be finished if people knew him in a nice way, according to Ricky Gervais. Depp is currently making headlines every day after filing a $50 million defamation suit against Amber Heard. Depp’s business and reputation suffered as a result of Heard’s allegations that he was abusive to her.

His deal with Warner Bros. and Disney was terminated, putting a stop to his roles in the two most popular franchises, Pirates of the Caribbean and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The actor filed a defamation suit against the Aquaman actress, which was settled on May 27. After weeks of testimony, evidence, and other evidence being presented in front of them, the jury is deliberating on the case.

When asked about Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, comedian Ricky Gervais, who is known for his roles in The Office UK and After Life, claimed that if people genuinely knew JD, his career would be done. JD had an appearance on the comedian’s series Life’s Too Short in 2011. Working together taught Gervaid about Johnny’s sense of comedy.

Ricky Gervais claimed during an interview on The Graham Norton Show,  “If people knew what he (Depp) was really like, his career would be over.”

Gervais added, “In one scene, I’m sort of helping Warwick get shoved down a toilet, as you do… I’m laughing and Warwick’s laughing and at one point Warwick goes, ‘Look at Johnny!’ I turn around and Johnny Depp is going, ‘You don’t mind if I m*sturbate while you’re doing that?’”

The comedian has received fire for his recent stand-up special, ‘SuperNature.’ Gervais delved into information regarding the trans community, which was deemed transphobic at the time. Ricky offered a complete disclosure at the conclusion and stated that he supports trans rights, but his jokes were interpreted as inappropriate and disrespectful.

Ricky Gervais recently made headlines after expressing his thoughts on the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard case. The comedian believes that neither of them will prevail in the case. Keep an eye on Koimoi for more!
