REHOBOTH BEACH, DELAWARE: During a weekend trip to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, US President Joe Biden took a spill from his bike on Saturday while stopping to greet supporters.
After rising up right away, he appeared to be unharmed. “I’m fine,” Biden, 79, remarked after taking a tumble in front of the cameras. He explained, “I got my foot tangled up.”
After his foot got trapped before he could balance himself, the president, who was wearing a riding helmet, stated the toe cages on his bike should be removed.
Biden afterwards spent several minutes conversing with spectators who had gathered to see him ride his bike.
Joe and Jill Biden were finishing up a morning bike ride along the Delaware beach in the Gordons Pond area. On Friday, they celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.
The president, according to the White House, did not require medical assistance.
“His foot got trapped on the pedal while dismounting, as the president stated, and he is fine,” a White House official who did not want to be identified said. “The president anticipates spending the remainder of the day with his family.”
When asked how he was feeling after church later that day, Biden executed a sequence of hops before getting into his car.
