On the 72nd anniversary of the start of the Korean War and amid escalating tension on the Korean Peninsula. North Korea on Saturday denounced “aggression measures” and vowed to get revenge.

South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and US President Joe Biden agreed in May to use additional US weapons.

The state news agency of the North, KCNA. They reported on Saturday that a number of labor unions had gathered to “promise vengeance on the US imperialists.” Accusing the US of beginning the 1950–1953 Korean War.

Since there was no peace treaty signed after the conflict. US-led UN forces are still formally at war with North Korea.
Pyongyang, according to the KCNA report, criticized Washington for what it called “aggression steps.”

Yoon promised to go above the beyond to defend freedom and peace as he observed the war anniversary in Seoul.
He posted on Facebook, saying, “We will maintain a strong security posture based on the South Korea-US alliance and a strong military backed by science and technology.”
The seventh nuclear test by Pyongyang, which US and South Korean officials have indicated might happen “any time now.” This concern however led up to Saturday’s anniversary.
