One killed, seven injured in Jacobabad grenade attack

JACOBABAD At least one person was killed and seven others were injured in a hand grenade attack after terrorists targeted the vehicle of law enforcement agencies.

The incident occurred near Moladad crossing gate in Jacobabad district of Sindh where armed suspects riding a motorcycle targeted a vehicle of security forces. According to reports, one person was killed and seven others were injured in the cracker explosion.

Police and eyewitnesses said the suspects hurled a hand grenade at a government vehicle near Moladad railway crossing. However, the Rangers survived the explosion and remained unhurt.

The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Larkana for medical treatment. Two policemen identified as Fayyaz Hussain and Ayaz Muhammad were also injured in the incident. The deceased victim was a civilian identified as Ghulam Mustafa Jakhrani,

Police further claimed to have apprehended a suspect allegedly involved in the attack. Law enforcement have sealed the nearby locality and launched a search operation.

SSP Jacobabad Sameer Noor Chana said law enforcement agencies have initiated an investigation. He said the nature of the blast is being investigated.
