Adele the singer wished Lanez a “very, very very, merry Christmas” at her Weekends with Adele residency event in Las Vegas later that evening.

Speaking to the audience during the performance, Adele began by recalling a viral clip of the 27-year-old rapper dancing to “Water Under the Bridge” from the British Grammy winner’s 2015 album 25 while doing choreography to her 2020 smash song “Body.”

In a video posted on Twitter, Adele, 34, was heard saying, “Someone asked, ‘Why doesn’t Adele have back-up dancers?’ and then someone made a video of ‘Water Under the Bridge’ with Meg Thee Stallion doing the dance to it. Do you recall that?

She then appeared to endorse Lanez while making reference to the rapper from Traumazine’s guilty conviction. Adele added, “Well today, tonight, I would like to wish Meg Thee Stallion a very, very, wonderful, merry Christmas. “Get some peace, girl. Now, sweetie, do whatever you want. I cherish you.”

A Los Angeles jury on Friday convicted Lanez, 30, real name Daystar Peterson, guilty of all three charges: recklessly discharging a firearm, carrying a loaded, unlicensed firearm in a moving vehicle, and assault with a semiautomatic pistol.

The rapper from Canada will be sentenced on January 27. Up to 22 years and 8 months in jail might result from the convictions.
