Wynonna Judd was not to attend Naomi Judd’s burial, according to what seems to be her horrific suicide note. Wynonna Judd was Naomi Judd’s “mentally ill” daughter.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee provided a picture of the statement, which was scrawled on a yellow Post-it note, to Radar Online on Tuesday.
The note said, “Do not let Wy attend my funeral.” She has a mental illness.
Underlining the word “not” demonstrated how passionately Naomi supposedly felt about denying Wynonna access to her services.
According to a source close to Wynonna, her mother’s final words had “crushed” her.
“Wy knows better than anyone the mental struggles Naomi went through, but it just crushes her to think her mom’s dying thoughts were so vicious,” a friend said.
At the age of 76, the pioneer of country music committed himself in April 2022 by shooting himself in the head. For many years, she had experienced mental health issues.
Naomi was discovered “unresponsive at her house by family” in August, according to an autopsy report from the Nashville medical examiner’s office. Naomi was later pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
In May, Wynonna, a member of the country music group The Judds with Naomi, spoke candidly about the pain of losing her mother.
“I DO know, that the pain of losing Mom on 4/30 to suicide is so great, that I often feel like I’m not ever going to be able to fully accept and surrender to the truth that she left the way she did. This cannot be how The Judds story ends,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
Wynonna, 58, noted that in order to prevent her family’s issues with mental illness and addiction, she needed to improve herself.
“I really DO know, that I’m not able to do this grieving thing all by myself and that it’s okay to reach out for help. I will continue to fight for my faith, for my SELF, for my family, and I WILL continue to show up & sing,” she wrote.
At the 2022 CMA Awards in November, Wynonna paid tribute to her mother by telling the crowd, “These past six months have been a time to grieve and a time to be grateful.”
