Susan Sarandon’s daughter respond to growing up with having famous parents

Susan Sarandon and Franco Amurri’s daughter Eva Amurri is being up about growing up as a celebrity’s child. The 37-year-old reacted to a comment in a recent TikTok asking if she has known other children of famous parents.

“Yes, I did grow up with a lot of other kids of celebrities,” Eva said in the Jan. 4 video, later explaining, “There’s a certain common thread that you feel with other people that grow up in this strange world.”

Eva claimed that while her parents were engaged in other film projects, she socialized with “nepo infants” (Susan is best known for Thelma & Louise and Stepmom, while Franco directed films including Flashback and Da grande.

“Anytime my parents would do a movie for a TV show or anything like that,” she said, “there would be of course the other kids of those other actors and directors who would all be together.”

The blogger continued by describing the connection that develops with other families in the public eye as a result of their renown.

“People in the industry who grow up in the industry sometimes liken the experience to like growing up in the circus,” Eva explained. “In the sense that you kind of spend these really surreal periods of time really closely intertwined with other people.”

She did, however, observe that the connections she and her family had forged throughout the course of their lives didn’t always endure; some people just lost touch when they stopped communicating frequently.

Eva went on: “One of the most perplexing aspects of the acting industry is that, after the production is finished, many times everyone goes their separate ways and you essentially just vanish back into everyday life. Sometimes, it can be very depressing.”

Eva admitted that despite this, she has “plenty of great experiences” from her youth with people who her family grew to care for.

“You spend that time together and then you kind of always have that thing in common,” she noted. “We kind of stayed close with some families over the years. Others ones, not so much, but it’s always kind of a unique experience to grow up that way.”
