CM Punjab orders crackdown against chemical string sale
LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has ordered a crackdown against the production and sale of chemical string for kite flying.
A meeting was held on the law and order situation under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, in which IG Punjab gave a briefing.
The Punjab Chief Minister ordered a crackdown on the sale and purchase of glass-coated strings while asking for a daily update report on the crime situation.
She said that after seeing the video of the child killed by the kite string, her heart trembled. Actions are needed on a war footing for the implementation of the law to prevent kite flying.
The meeting also agreed to develop a fool-proof mechanism to stop drug delivery.
Maryam Nawaz said that cases should be made against big drug dealers with irrefutable evidence, while in the case of rape, the accused should be punished and set a lesson.
It should be noted that a young boy died due to electrocution while trying to fly a kite in Sargodha.
According to the police, the incident took place in the Taqi Park area of Jhal Chakian.
Rescue sources said that Abdul Rahim, the only young son of the parents, was carrying an iron pipe on the roof to return a cut kite when the pipe collided with high-voltage wires.
