ISLAMABAD: An earthquake measuring 2.6 on the Richter scale jolted Harnai and its adjoining areas in Balochistan province on early Friday.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was 36km away from the Harnai area at a depth of 24 kilometers.
In the aftermath of the earthquake, people came out of their homes in panic and started reciting verses from the Holy Quran.
Meanwhile, no loss of life or property was reported from any part due to the earthquake.
Earlier, Gwadar has been declared a disaster zone due to the alarming situation after the torrential rains.
Rain and hail are continuing in Gwadar and adjoining areas, rains in Nagor have broken the protective dams of the fields, due to which water is likely to move towards Gwadar city.
The Caretaker Provincial Information Minister Jan Achakzai has said that the Caretaker Chief Minister has signed the summary regarding the declaration of Gwadar as a disaster.
Moreover, after the rains in Gwadar, many areas are still under water, while more rains are continuing.
