In Lahore, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts substantial rain, wind, and thunderstorms with sporadic hailstorms for Lahore and portions of Punjab from March 11 to March 13.

According to the current synoptic conditions, a westerly wave is expected to enter Balochistan around March 09 (Saturday) and is projected to reach the upper regions of Pakistan by March 11 (Monday). Another westerly wave is anticipated to enter Pakistan on March 12 (Tuesday).

Under these circumstances, rain, wind, and thunderstorms with a possibility of heavy falls are anticipated in Murree, Galyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, and Bhakkar from March 11 (evening/night) to March 14. Additionally, rain, wind, and thunderstorms are expected in Multan, Kot Addu, Layyah, Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Khanpur, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, and Bahawalnagar on March 13, with isolated hailstorms possible during this period.

Possible Impacts and advises:

Heavy rains, along with isolated heavy snowfall, could lead to road closures in Murree and Galyat on March 13 and March 14. Wind-thunderstorm and hailstorms may potentially damage loose structures such as electric poles and solar panels. Tourists are urged to avoid unnecessary travel, and farmers are advised to exercise caution regarding their crops.

During the past 24 hours, Lahore and much of Punjab experienced cold and dry weather conditions. Freezing temperatures were reported in Murree and Galyat during this period.
